People had built many ships. Titanic was the largest ship at that time. They thought it unsinkable. She had sixteen watertight compartments. Two of these were filled with water. It could still float. People will always remember the terrible sinking of the great ship. It sank on its first voyage. Life lost heavily. Many people jumped into the water. The water was icy. Not enough lifeboats for all passengers. 1,500 people died.
